Daylight Savings Time
Change - PTFs Available
The
dates for Daylight Savings Time have changed. Beginning this year, DST
will start on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in
November. IBM has PTFs available for V5R3 and V5R4 that will take care
of this change for you automatically.

V5R3M0 SI26039, SI25991
These
PTFs can be downloaded from the IBM website using Fix Central. They can
be applied immediately, and do not require an IPL. However, depending
on how up-to-date you are with PTFs, there may also be prerequisite PTFs
that must be downloaded and applied. So you’ll probably want to get
this on the schedule sooner rather than later.
Please
note that if you do not apply these PTFs and just change the time
manually, V5R4 and V5R3 will still automatically change the time again
on the old change dates (April and October).
With
V5R2 or earlier, OS/400 does not provide automatic time change, so
you’ll still need to change the time yourself by changing the QTIME
system value.

Take option 2 to change (Enter)
Type in the correct time (Enter)
And
don’t forget to check on other systems in your organization as well.
For example, if Windows is set for automatic updates, this change will
be taken care of automatically. If not, you will need to change the
time manually.
